Iran Mercantile Exchange witnessed the offering of close to 62,000 tons of goods at its spot market on Saturday. The relatively low trade volume and value is widely attributed to the prevailing recession in the country and tumbling commodity prices across the globe. According to IME, 1,000 tons of bitumen by Hormozgan Bitumen Company and 2,700 tons of the same commodity by other suppliers in addition to 700 tons of roof insulation were offered on the export trading floor. The oil and petrochemical trading floor played host to more than 19,600 tons of petrochemicals, 19,000 tons of vacuum bottoms, 2,800 tons of lube-cut oil and 200 tons of sulfur. The agricultural trading floor featured 4,000 tons of durum wheat, 2,000 tons of soybean flakes, 1,000 tons of unprocessed vegetable oil, 1,000 tons of soybean meal, 500 tons of white sugar and 250 tons of corn.
