Mining Coop. With Azerbaijan

During a meeting between deputy minister of industries, mining and trade, Mehdi Karbasian, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev in Baku on Friday, the two sides discussed avenues of cooperation in the mining sectors. According to IRNA, Iran proposed to share its expertise in the mining and steel sectors, while the Azeri minister discussed investing in Iran’s mining exploration and announced that a trade delegation will soon visit Tehran to follow up on cooperation discussions. Karbasian also met with CEO of Baku Steel Company, Suleyman Mamadov, later in the day and discussed cooperation between the two countries’ private sectors in steel and glass production.
