An Iranian economic delegation, headed by deputy minister of industries, mining and trade, Valiollah Afkhamirad, visited Serbia on Wednesday for a three-day visit aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in multiple areas. The visiting delegation comprised of Iranian traders and business-owners from petrochemical, textile, pharmaceutical and food industries as well as representatives from engineering and technical companies, IRNA reported.  The delegation met with Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antic and the two sides discussed signing an agreement for cooperation in the areas of mining and energy during Iran-Serbia Economic Cooperation Commission, which is scheduled to be held in Tehran around November-December. In a meeting with Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic and Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic, it was agreed that an Iranian Trade Center be opened in Belgrade, as a “hub for Iran’s economy in the Balkan region.” The Iranian delegation also met with officials from Serbia’s petrochemical, construction, sports and tourism sectors on Thursday to seek avenues for cooperation. They visited an international exhibition of packing and food industries equipment and held meetings with Serbian private sector businessmen and industrialists on Friday.
