Iran’s vast, untapped market can be a great market for Australian products.
During a meeting between Australia’s Ambassador to Iran Paul Foley and head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mining and Agriculture Mohsen Jalalpour in Tehran on Wednesday, the two sides explored avenues of cooperation and investment in the post-sanctions era.
“Considering Iran’s new economic climate following the lifting of sanctions, the time is ripe for both countries to cooperate in the fields of agriculture, livestock, veterinary, mining, tourism, education and student admissions,” Mehr News Agency quoted Jalalpour as saying.
The Australian envoy pointed to the two countries’ longstanding trade ties and said Australia’s private sector is highly interested in making investments in Iran.
Foley also noted that Australia’s Trade and Investment Office has recently opened in Tehran.
