Long-awaited Unionpay cards are now available in the country as a result of the nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers. The cards are now accepted and card holders can use them for their electronic payments, Banker website reported. The card can also be used in ATMs and shops which are connected to the system. China Unionpay, established in 2002, is an international payment company trying to compete with Visa and Master Card by offering cheaper transaction fees. The Chinese company has the second largest payment network in the world, providing services in 141 countries. Issued cards are affiliated with American Express, Visa and Master Card. The cards could be purchased through the website of IraniCard – the company through which they are available- at iranicard.com.
