Iranian, German and Afghan professors and experts of geology have convened at Geological Survey of Iran to survey the mining resources of Afghanistan and the country’s technical know-how in this field. The main objective of the three-day meetings, which started on Tuesday, is to improve the specialist expertise of Afghanistan’s academia in geology and mineral exploration, IRNA reported. “Iran began work in Afghanistan’s mining sector in 2009 and took the preliminary steps toward reaching this goal by holding theoretical and applied courses in mine exploration in cooperation with Afghanistan Geological Survey which is a body of the Afghanistan Ministry of Mines, said the deputy head of the Iranian organization, Jalil Qalamqash.
