The Monetary and Banking Research Institute of the Central Bank of Iran has recently released a new publication named “E-Payment Systems and E-Banking in Iran”, CBI’s website reported on Wednesday. The book provides definitions of basic concepts and mechanisms of electronic banking systems and sheds light on future plans of the central bank in the field of advanced banking technologies. It also outlines the fundamental role the CBI has played in developing the infrastructure for e-payment and e-banking, formulating the required regulations, setting up national payment and monitoring systems, and holding training courses in the form of seminars and conferences to enhance public awareness. The volume also encapsulates CBI’s efforts to promote professional knowledge among the bank personnel and customers.
