Goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas increased 15.4% in the 12-month period ending August 22, which marks the end of the fifth month of the Iranian year Mordad, compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Central Bank of Iran.
According to the CBI, the inflation rate fell 0.2% compared to the previous month’s corresponding period when the figure stood at 15.6%. The report also shows year-on-year CPI increase of 12.6% compared with the similar month last year.
The CBI report comes as the Statistical Center of Iran earlier put the inflation for the same 12-month period at 13.8% compared to the same period last year. The SCI reported a year-on-year increase of 11.5%.
