The Australian trade commission Austrade—a governmental trade, investment and education promotion agency—has expressed readiness to develop mining cooperation with Iran. “Australian companies are eager to make a comeback in Iran and invest in the country’s mining projects,” IRNA quoted Gerard Seeber, Austrade’s senior trade commissioner and consul general, as saying. Seeber, who is responsible for Austrade’s operations across the Middle East and North Africa region made the remarks in a meeting with Mehdi Karbasian, director general of Iran Mining and Industries Development and Renovation Organization in Tehran on Tuesday. He noted that Australia is aware of the advantages and capacities of Iran’s mining sector which has advanced significantly in the recent years, adding that both countries will benefit from expanding cooperation in mining industries.
