National Development Fund’s board members have revised their list of priorities for business lending. At their latest meeting held on Tuesday, the board members agreed to expand their lending scope to cover more businesses, Banker website reported. “Industries and mines” became the fund’s top sector eligible to receive loans, followed by “tourism” and “water, agriculture, the environment and natural resources”. The industries and mines category would encompass manufacturers and exporters. Tourism loans would mostly go to hotel and accommodation constructions. The third and the most wide-ranging sector would cover agricultural exports, greenhouse vegetable production, fish farming, agricultural enterprises and irrigation methods. Environmental plans and projects aimed at preserving natural recourses would also fit into the third category.
