Production has in general had a positive trend in recent months though some industries are reportedly in trouble now, said the minister of economic affairs and finance on Tuesday. Ali Tayebnia was attending a ceremony held in Tehran to introduce an integrated customs system. He rejected claims that production has returned to 2011 highs but he said that many industries have recorded positive growth rates. “The auto industry has grown by nearly 80 percent since last year,” Tayebnia said, adding that “the construction sector, however, has contracted in the same period.” Yet, the performance of the industry sector has been positive, the minister noted.
