The National Steel Atlas has been unveiled in a ceremony attended by deputy minister of industries, mining and trade, Mehdi Karbasian. The book, compiled by the ministry in collaboration with the Iranian Steel Producers Association, contains comprehensive data on Iran’s steel sector and is to be used as an official reference for steel industry statistics, IRNA reported. It also contains a detailed map of all steel manufacturing units across the country as well as information on steel products, production capacities of steel mills, suppliers and contractors in the steel sector. The book contains information about steel producing companies in four categories, namely rolling, steelmaking, reduction and pelletizing facilities. The authors say the atlas will be updated annually to represent developments in the steel sector.
