The region’s first bulletproof glass factory opened in Iran’s central city of Ardakan, Yazd. ISNA has reported that the glass was successfully tested and evaluated by “using a range of different handguns.” The CEO of the firm, Mahmoud Azizian said, “This glass is a combination of two or more layers of glass whose central layers include PVB types.” The company also produces about 500 square meters of safety glass on a daily basis. The product can be used in construction industries, transport and security industries. The city of Ardakan is among the most famous in the Middle East for its glass production ranging from 1.8 millimeter thickness to 19 millimeters.
