According to the managing director of Eastern Railway, the mineral and industrial sectors in the eastern city of Tabas in South Khorasan Province could enormously benefit from the expansion and development of the railway network, Eghtesad-News reported. Mohammad Eqbali said expanding the railway will enable the Parvadeh Coal Mine as well as the cement producers to easily and inexpensively transport their products. Local officials have for long been calling for the development of railway network in the country’s east.
