The Iranian Privatization Organization (IPO) says the winner of the bid to buy the major football club Perspolis will be announced this week, according to the IPO public relations. The IPO head, Abdollah Pouri-Hosseini, said two out of three bidder envelops for Perspolis were opened on Wednesday, while one as well as another envelop for the other major football club Esteqlal were discarded since the required deposits for the bid had not been paid by the applicants. According to the IPO head, a tripartite committee, comprised of ministers of economy, sports, and justice will vet the competence of the highest bidder on Sunday and the final winner will be announce either on Sunday or Monday. Currently, two bids have been received for Perspolis at 2.96 and 2.98 trillion rials. The winner will be required to pay 20% of the fee in cash while the rest will be cleared through 5-year installments.
