Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company said it supplied the domestic market with 10.32 million metric tons of iron ore concentrate last Iranian year (ended March 20), IRNA reported on Tuesday. The mining company is now planning to produce 10.5 million tons of concentrate this year, said the company head, Mohammad Abrishami. Chadormalu also produced more than 1.5 million tons of iron ore pellets last year but could not sell the entire production due to declines in prices. Abrishami added that the mine is expected to have iron ore reserves for eight more years if no exploration is implemented. Meanwhile, a new anomaly is being explored with reserves at a depth of 140 meters, he added. The mine has, during the past two years, been a subject of bitter dispute between the mine’s private owners and the government over the issue of mine royalties.
