In a meeting this week in Putrajaya, the Malaysian de facto capital, the Iranian deputy-minister of welfare, labor and cooperatives agreed with Malaysian officials to expand bilateral cooperation in the cooperative sector. Hamid Kalantari provided details of the sector in Iran to Malaysian officials underlining how effective it could be on the economic growth. Iran is planning to develop
its cooperative sector so that the industry can account for 25 percent of the gross domestic product, up from five percent now.
