FAO to Help With Cadastral Survey

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has announced its preparedness to help Iran organize its data on agricultural land through a cadastral system, IRNA reported. “Implementing cadastre for Iran’s agricultural land is the basis for all other activities in the sector and is considered as the groundwork for development of agricultural land management,” said the FAO representative, Serge Nakouzi, during his meeting with officials at Land Affairs Organization of Iran (LAOI). The FAO representative stressed the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad’s arduous task to preserve the country’s farms and orchards, noting that it is of crucial importance for the country’s food security. Nakouzi reiterated that FAO is keen to cooperate with Iran towards surveying and preparing land cadastral maps, drawing on its previous experiences.
