Petrochemicals Under IME Spotlight

The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME)’s trading halls played host to various commodities by local petrochemical complexes on Saturday trading, IME’s public relations office reported.
Close to 40,651 tons of eleven petrochemical complexes offered their commodities on the oil and petrochemical trading floor. In addition, about 59,000 tons of various grades of bitumen, 7,500 tons of lube-cut oil, 5,000 tons of vacuum bottoms, and 1,400 tons of sulfur were offered on the same floor.
The industrial and mining trading floor played host to 1,500 tons of aluminum ingot 99.5-percent purity, and 500 tons of aluminum ingot 99.25-percent purity offered by Almahdi Hormozal Aluminum Company. Moreover, 800 tons of aluminum ingot 99.97-percent purity by Iran Aluminum Company, and 200 tons of coke were among other commodities supplied on the floor.
Elsewhere, the agricultural trading floor featured 34,658 tons of corn, 3,000 tons of rice, and 400 tons of cubic sugar offered by local suppliers.
Overall, 261,000 tons of commodities were offered at IME’s spot market on the first day of the week.

 Weekly Trade
Around 614,000 tons of commodities, valued at close to 9.45 trillion rials were traded at the IME’s spot market during the week that ended March 12.
According to the report, the agricultural trading floor recorded the trade of 24,705 tons of corn, which indicates about 127 and 125 percent growth in trade volume and value respectively in comparison with the prior trading week. In addition, customers purchased 90 tons of sugar, 75 tons of soybean meal, and 35 tons of barley on the same floor during the week.
Moreover, 236,038 tons of commodities, valued at more than 6.4 trillion rials were traded on the export and local industrial and mining trading floor. More than 226,540 tons of steel sections, 200,000 tons of iron ore, 4,290 tons of copper, 4,300 tons of aluminum, 200 tons of molybdenum-concentrate, 700 tons of coke, 3 tons of concentrate, and 1 kg of gold were sold during the week.
The local and export oil and petrochemical trading floor registered the trade of 352,469 tons of commodities, valued at almost 4.6 trillion rials. More than 144,440 tons of various grades of bitumen, 48,647 tons of polymers, 105,810 tons of vacuum bottoms, 34,000 tons of lube-cut oil, 15,887 tons of chemicals, 890 tons of roof insulation, 2,750 tons of sulfur, and 40 tons of feedstock were traded on the floor.
