The minister of industries, mine, and trade, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, said that a financial collaboration between Iran and Iraq could help boost bilateral trade. The minister said an initial agreement was made on the issue when an Iranian delegation was on a recent visit to Iraq. Representatives from the central banks of the two countries agreed on the initial issues, he said. Iran has been a key player in Iraq to help the neighboring Arab country develop numerous infrastructural projects. Among major projects Iranians are handling in that country is construction of a car production line there, Nematzadeh noted, without giving any more specifics. The minister was speaking after he met with visiting Iraqi deputy commerce minister, Walid Habib al-Mousavi, according to TNA.
