Sina Bank, announced the development of a secure mobile phone application or “app” on Tuesday, according to Banker news website.
The new smart phone app has been created for users of Android mobile phone operating system – currently running on 80 percent smart phones. It allows bank customers to conduct transactions like, mobile phone payments, mobile phone top-up, and card-2-card transfers among others.
The smart phone app aims to bring many of Sina Bank’s customers to the 3G services and save them the wait inside traditional banks. The app is available on Sina’s website and through Iran’s local Android appstore Cafebazaar.ir.
Sina Bank like many of its competitors, has begun to update its customer services. Now all banks have some sort of mobile service offering, with some like Saman Bank leading the way in terms of technical innovation.
Sina Bank offers retail, commercial and investment banking services. It was established in 1985 as a part of the government’s privatization of the banking system.
The Tehran based lender operates throughout Iran with 253 branches. It is listed in the Tehran Stock Exchange and is currently the 64th largest company in Iran.
