Vietnam’s ambassador in Iran, Nguyen Hong Thach visited Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company (ITMCO) in the northwestern city of Tabriz and met with company’s managing director to assess the suitability of Iranian tractors to be used in Vietnamese farms.
The diplomat predicted that the Iranian tractors would find a good market in Vietnam due to their high quality and low prices, even though Vietnam has its own tractor manufacturing companies, IRNA reported Tuesday.
The ITMCO managing director, Abolfath Ebrahimi, said the company is capable of producing tractors that are suitable for Vietnam’s climate. According to Ebrahimi, Iranian tractors can compete with European and Chinese counterparts both in price and quality.
ITMCO produces 23 different types of tractors with single and double differential gearboxes. The parent company has 7 subsidiary companies including two production lines in Tajikistan and Venezuela. The 47-year-old company also manufactures more than 70 types of engines in agricultural, industrial, and automotive sectors. As of late, the group has been actively involved in the auto sector, producing engine cylinders for Iran’s two major automakers, namely Iran Khodro and Saipa. The ITMCO has also declared that it can manufacture diesel engines for cars in accordance with the latest European emission standards.
