A duo trying to distribute counterfeit ‘Iran Checks’ and bank notes was arrested in Kurdestan province, said the head of the provincial police department, Abdollah Fatehi. Contrary to regular checks issued by commercial banks, Iran Checks (like hard cash) are more similar to IOUs. The two felons were arrested at the premises of Kurdestan’s permanent exhibition halls and taken to the police office. Several counterfeit bank notes and Iran Checks in their possession were confiscated, ISNA reported. The suspects have confessed to having committed the crime. Legal cases have been opened, which will further be attended to by the prosecutor’s office.
