A top official at the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said the development plans in industrial and mineral sectors would create jobs for at least 120,000 people, Tasnim News Agency reported on Friday. According to Amir Sabbaq, 30 development plans at the IMIDRO will come into operation by March 20, 2018 in which some 240 trillion rials ($8.62 billion based on official currency exchange rate) will be invested. The employments created in the industrial sector are stable and the development in mining and industrial sectors would help improve the economy in underdeveloped areas, added Sabbaq. The official also pointed to mining companies’ key role in stock exchange by controlling over 25% of the stock market. The mineral industry companies export more than $8 billion of non-oil products every year with between 600 and 700 thousand staff working in the sector.
