A report by the ministry of industry, mine and trade indicates that while the total number of permits issued by the ministry in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (to end March 20) has reduced compared with the similar period last year, some industries have registered significant development during the period.
According to the report, 14,489 permits were issued by the ministry over this period with total investment of 918.78 trillion rials ($26.8 billion at market exchange rates), which indicates 6.7 percent reduction in the number of issued premits and 10.7 decline in the amount of investments compared with last.
As per the statistics, of the total 33 industrial categories listed in the report, 21 registered negative growth during the period, while only 12 performed positively, Eghtesadnews reported.
‘Computer and related activities’, ‘medical and optical instruments’, and ‘office equipmet and accounting’ groups recoded the highest growth in the number of permits issuance during the 10-month period with 55%, 53.5% and 43.8% respectively.
‘Engineering services’, ‘recycling’, ‘garments and leather processing’, ‘radio, TV and communication’, ‘food and beverages products’, ‘textile manufacturing’, ‘print and publishing’ and ‘motor vehicles’ were among other categories which registered growth in the number of permits isued over the period.
The average growth of all listed industries was -6.7 percent. The graph shows the percentage growth in the number of permits isued in various categories during the period.
