During the past few years, a number of Iranian commercial banks have suggested that Automated Teller Machines (ATM) should be updated and adjusted to accept checks. Namely, CEO of Bank Mellat Mohammadreza Saroukhani has announced that the bank aims to introduce the service in the coming fiscal year (starting March 21), IRNA reported. “Although the Central Bank of Iran does not yet have a definite plan in this regard if commercial banks have the necessary potentials for implementing the update, the CBI won’t hesitate to offer the needed support,” said Nasser Hakimi, Central Bank of Iran’s head of communication and information technology.
