Ali Asghar Mounesan, managing director of Kish Free Zone Organization, was awarded during a ceremony Wednesday a national medal of honor for contributions to the ‘resistance economy’ through his development of Kish Island, according to the organization’s PR office. Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei outlined the general policies of the resistance economy last year.
The resistance economy is policy of the government of Iran, where indigenous industries are given priority of imports of foreign produced items. The economy would also be able to stand against punitive western sanctions against the country through the development of locally produced items. Wednesday’s ceremony, held in Tehran, was aimed at extolling Iranian managers promoting the resistance economy doctrine.
