MCI Iran (Hamre-e-Aval) has announced a proposal to increase broadband speeds within Iran. The draft proposal was presented at a ceremony in Tehran’s Milad Tower complex on Thursday, according to MCI’s PR office. Mobile Communications Company of Iran’s executives proposed the details of increasing bandwidth in the country to levels not currently available. Hamid Reza Nikou-far, managing director of MCI, said the list of participants in the new speed include all internet service providers. Dubai based Thomas B Little consultants also attended the event; what their role was is still unknown. The original broadband expansion plan was first proposed in 2013, with many of the companies requesting increases in speed.
