Central banks of Iran and Azerbaijan plan to expand financial ties. Iran’s Economy Minister Ali Tayebnia met with the governor of Azerbaijan Central Bank Elman Rustamov in Baku. Both officials agreed that the needed situation should be provided so that banking experts could share valuable experience. They were of the opinion that banking activities between the two countries should increase. Political ties between the two neighboring nations have recently progressed and the same could happen in the banking field, Iran’s economy minister noted, adding that in order for commercial and economic cooperation to increase between Iran and Azerbaijan, regular banking communication is needed.
