Iran's second largest carmaker SAIPA delivered 26,000 presold cars during the month ending Sept. 22.

In a statement on its website, the company assured customers that the delivery of cars it has presold would continue despite problems the beleaguered industry is facing.

SAIPA says since the beginning of the current fiscal in March, it delivered over 262,000 cars to its customers. The company did not provide details on the models and prices.

In early September, SAIPA launched an online presale program to sell 50,000 of its Pride, Tiba and Saina models. The offer drew unusual crowds wanting to change their cash into safe-haven assets in view of the galloping inflation and tanking of the national currency.

According to the carmaker, all vehicles on offer were presold in less than 38 hours, mainly purchased by people from Tehran and Alborz provinces (29% of the total sale).
