Iran’s largest carmaker, Iran Khodro, is set to export 6,000 cars equipped with automatic transmission to Iraq, during the current fiscal which ends in March 2019.
Two locally designed sedan models namely Samand and Dena along with Peugeot 405 produced in Iran and through a joint venture between IKCO and Peugeot are to be exported to Iraq which is a major target market for Iranian automotive industries.
“Given the warm welcome of the neighboring country toward IKCO products with automatic gearboxes, we have decided to increase the export of such products to the country,” Hassan Golchubian, IKCO’s exports director for the Middle East and Africa, was quoted as saying in a report published by the company’s press office.
