Uber has had its license suspended in Sheffield after it failed to respond to official requests about its management, the city council has said. The firm, also fighting a ban in London, can still operate in Sheffield until Dec. 18 and can appeal against the decision, the council said. If it decides not to appeal, the suspension will come into force, BBC reported. Uber said that an “administrative error” by the council was to blame and hoped to resolve the issue soon. The company is still fighting its ban in London after it lost its license there in September. Transport for London, which has criticized the firm’s record over reporting criminal offences and carrying out driver background checks, decided not to renew Uber’s London license after it deemed the firm “unfit” to run a taxi service.
