Local company Arman Motor Kavir is set to unveil two imported Luxgen cars in Tehran on Friday.

Arman Motor signed a representation deal with Taiwanese automaker Luxgen Motor Co. in July. The brand will make its debut with two models, namely the U6 crossover and the S3 sedan, local automotive website Asbe Bokhar reported.

Sales are expected to start before the end of the current fiscal in March 2018. The company is yet to announce prices. Speculations put the possible price of the compact crossover and the sedan respectively under 1 and 1.5 billion rials ($25,000-$37,500).

The U6 comes with two engine choices; a 1.8L and a 2.0L with respective outputs of 168hp and 190hp. Luxgen’s S3 is a 5-seater subcompact sedan equipped with a 1.6-liter, 116 hp gasoline engine.

CEO of Arman Motor, Farzin Torkipor had said earlier that the cars will be imported as completely built units. However, “the two companies are also studying the possibility of local assembly of the vehicles.”

Arman Motor has established sales and after-sales offices in six major cities, namely Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Yazd, Tabriz and Mashhad.
