The Motorcycle and Automobile Club of Tehran Province arranged a drag racing competition in Tehran on Friday. Fifty drivers participated in the competition, local automotive website Khodro Bank reported. Drag racing is a type of motor racing in which automobiles or motorcycles compete, usually two at a time, to be first to cross a set finish line. The race follows a short, straight course from a standing start over a measured distance, most commonly 402 meters. The race is getting trendy in Iran. Earlier in August a similar competition was held in the northern city of Bandar Anzali with 100 drivers.
