The locally assembled car Changan CS35 is increasing its use of local auto parts, according to the Iranian press. SAIPA Kashan, where the car is currently produced, has said that 20% of parts of the small crossover are now produced by local companies, Asbe Bokhar wrote on Wednesday. However, sources close to the company say the mix of parts being produced by local companies is not permanent with foreign-made parts sometimes making  up for the shortfall. SAIPA has yet to get certification for its locally produced parts from the Chinese carmaker. Meanwhile, Iran Standards and Quality Inspection Co., a privately owned inspection firm, has approved the parts for localization.  According to ISQI’s verification, the CS35 scored three stars in quality, in the $14,300-$21,500 price range.
