According to the latest customs data 23,266 vehicles were imported into the country in the first four months to July, up 55% y/y.  Figures released by Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), during the 4-month period 8,255 more vehicles were imported by land and sea ports up on last year’s 15,011 units, Asre Khodro reported.   The import data adds that 15,774 cars with engines smaller than 2000cc, and 7,792 cars of 2000 to 2,500cc were shipped to Iran during the period.  The total value of imported cars with the engine volume of 1500 to 2000 cc in the four months was over $426 million, and the value of imported cars in the 2000 to 2,500 cc range was $213 million. Imported cars with engines of 1,500 to 2000cc had a 2.6% share of the market while 2000 to 2,500 cc vehicles currently have 1.35% overall.
