Irtoya Jacking Up Toyota C-HR Price

Toyota C-HR is now one of the more expensive crossovers in the local market.

Irtoya has released the new C-HR crossover model in the market but the price seems to have made a huge leap from international prices.

Four units of the sporty-looking model, which first appeared at the Tehran Auto Show in February 2016, have been delivered to buyers, local automotive website Car.ir reported.

While the C-HR is sold for $25,000 in many countries, Irtoya is demanding almost double the price at 1.8 billion rials ($48,000) and 2.15 billion rials ($57,300) for the full option model.

According to independent car website bama.ir the car’s price in the market has reached 2.4 billion rials ($64,000) – almost three times more than the international price.

Costumers will get the option of a 114-hp 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 1.8-liter hybrid that pretty much repackages the Prius’s gas-electric powertrain.

However, Toyota’s latest entry, with that relative low dose of power will face fierce competition in the Iranian market with several other SUVs, namely the Renault Koleos, Nissan Qashqai, Haima S7 (much cheaper), Mitsubishi Outlander and Renault Duster.

C-HR uses the brand’s latest Toyota New Global Architecture, which underpins the current Prius hybrid and helps deliver composed handling and a comfortable ride.
