China’s BYD is readying its F6 sedan for the Iranian market.

The Fourth Alborz Motor Show was held in Karaj from July 4-7 with many firms vying for buyers of their latest models.

Manufacturers of passenger cars, heavy goods vehicles, motorcycles and auto parts suppliers, as well as representatives of automotive technology firms and after-sales service companies, participated in the event, local auto website Asbe Bokhar reported.

The exhibition, held in coordination with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, was organized by Tana International Group as per previous iterations of the show.

Among the firms this year were Iran Khodro and SAIPA, Pars Khodro, new joint venture Citroen SAIPA and Arian Motors representing Nissan and Mitsubishi.

Karmania, a local car company and the official representative of China’s BYD (Build Your Dreams) group, could be said to be one of the prominent entities in the auto fair, showing its newest vehicles: the BYD S6, F3 and E6.

The presold units of SUV S6 are due to be delivered in October. However, the two other models are new to the Iranian market and were previously displayed at Tehran Auto Show earlier this year.

The BYD F3 sedan will go on sale by the end of summer, the firm told reporters covering the event.

At first glance, this Chinese-built car powered by a 1.6-liter Mitsubishi-sourced engine, connected to a 5-speed manual Mitsubishi gearbox, looks like a mashup of a Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla with hints of other brands. It also scores well in China-NCAP crash tests by receiving 4 stars.
