Heavy goods vehicles producer Iran Khodro Diesel Co (IKD), a subsidiary of IKCO, the biggest auto producer in the country, has appointed Alireza Saji as its new chief executive officer. Saji previously headed the Vehicle Axle Manufacturing Co, a subsidiary of Iran Khodro’s parts makers, as well as Mehr Kam Pars and Mehvarsazan Engineering and Construction Company. His new job will focus on overhauling much of the outdated infrastructure at IKD, while also spearheading projects related to bringing new vehicles on line, the company said in a press release.    The new vehicles on offer by IKD include the locally assembled Foton Tunland off-road pickup truck. In the free market, the Tunland model costs 920 million rials ($24,000). Saji holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Amir Kabir University.
