Local Company Announces Geely GC6 Presale

Bam Khodro will start the presale of GC6 from June 10 putting it under the category of high-quality affordable cars, according to automotive website Persian Khodro. The car should be available for sale in summer.

The small private carmaker signed a representation deal with China’s Geely for producing vehicles during the last fiscal year (ended March 20).

It launched the production line for Geely GC6 sedan in the city of Bam in central Kerman Province last month.

GC6 will be the first locally-assembled product of Geely to be offered in the saturated auto market.

It has been priced at 478 million rials ($12,800) aiming to grasp the market on midrange automatic cars such as Tondar 90.

The GC6’s drive train consists of a 146 horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and the output is managed by a six-speed automatic transmission.

Car news websites in China say the GC6 model is an international variant of the Geely MK which was introduced in the mainland Chinese market in 2006.
