Iran Khodro Announces August Delivery for Dena+

The CEO of Iran Khodro, the country's biggest car producer, said Tuesday that the first deliveries of the latest version of the Dena sedan model will be made to customers by mid-August.

Hashem Yekezare said the delivery of the first Dena+ models will be given to families of the firefighters who died in the Plasco building fire and collapse, Iran Khodro's press office reported on May 30.

Plasco Building was an iconic 17-storey high-rise tower in downtown Tehran which caught fire on January 19 killing 20 firefighters battling the blaze.

New technology, as part of partnerships with foreign firms, is part of the overhauled design for the second edition of the Dena.

The price of the new car is estimated at 460 million rials ($12,000), according to the price listing website IranJib.ir, although the original Dena factory price said it was around 420 million rials ($11,200).

Iran Khodro has increased its range of cars on offer with the Peugeot 2008, Haima S7, DongFeng H30 Cross, and now the Dena+ rolling out of the factory's doors.
