The Chinese JAC S3 small sports utility vehicle is currently being test driven by Kerman Motor technicians, according to a local media report. JAC S3 is the “little brother” of the already released JAC S5, assembled and sold in the local market by Kerman Motor company for the past couple of years. Based on a similar platform the new vehicle is likely to be priced at 700 million rials (just under $19,000), the local automotive website Asbe Bokhar reported. Kerman Motors had earlier announced that it would launch the model during the International Kerman Auto Show in December 2016. The mini-SUV is equipped with a nippy 1.5-liter gasoline engine and has 111 horsepower, according to reports from China. When the vehicle assembly kicks off, the model will be in the same price range as Changan CS35 – currently produced by the second biggest carmaker SAIPA. There is no exact date for the sale of the new car, but it is likely the vehicle should be released before the end of this year.
