The first batch of Renault’s new model of a luxury SUV, Koleos entered Iran over the weekend.
Negin Khodro, the official dealership of imported Renault vehicles in Iran, will sell the model for 1.99 billion rials (€49,320), the automotive website Horse Power reported.
Images of at least two dozen large SUVs were snapped by the local website as the vehicles were coming out of customs.
The new generation Koleos can be purchased from the company with a down payment of 1 billion rials (€24,485).
In a talk with Tasnim News Agency in December, the company CEO, Jamshid Husseini, said the nearly 2-billion-rial price tag for the vehicle “could see a change due to fluctuations in the foreign exchange rate.”
Over the past five months however, the price has remained the same as announced by the company.
The vehicle is not available in Europe yet, but in Australia a basic-spec model sells for AU$29,990 or 896 million rials.
