The Chinese firm has so far not made any comments on whether they will bring the car to Iran.

Chery’s new Arrizo 5e electric vehicle, based on the Arrizo 5 gasoline sedan, can drive 410 kilometers, according to the company, following its showcase at the Shanghai auto show last month.

The interior of the car is no different from the gas version of the car (already released in Iran), said reports about the car from Car News China on May 4.

However, unlike the petrol version, the new EV looks to run entirely on a series of batteries, as shown in the images from the Beijing website.

Chery has not specified whether the impressive range is measured by the European NEDC standard or the American EPA standard, but in general Chinese manufacturers use NEDC to measure their range of electric cars.

Power comes from an electric motor with 122hp and 276nm. Top speed is 152 km per hour. It takes 30 minutes on a fast charger to charge up the battery to 80%.

Chery did not disclose the charging time on 220V. Price for the Chery Arrizo 5e is expected to hover around the 100,000 yuan mark (€16,000), including subsidies.

Financial Tribune contacted Chery in Iran to see if the car will come to Tehran’s smog-filled streets. A spokesperson from the company’s PR team said, the local representative has not yet decided whether it will bring the car to Iran.

The date of the release of the car in the Chinese market has also not been announced.

The other electric car produced by the firm, the Chery QQ EV, based on the gasoline car of the same platform, is also soon to be launched in the Chinese market.

The Chinese firm has so far not made any comments on whether they will bring the car to Iran.

The company is currently in the process of creating a new robotic assembly line in Iran’s southern city of Bam in Kerman Province to boost production of vehicles in the country.

The firm previously announced it would build more than 100,000 cars at the facility, when it opens in 2018.
