Hyundai Unveils New Sonata 2018

Hyundai Motors unveiled an all-new Sonata sedan model in the country’s capital on March 7 according to a local automotive blog website.

The Sonata 2018 builds on the body of the previous iterations of the car while introducing several noticeable design upgrades including a new cabin interior and sweeping exterior design, Korean Car Blog reported.

At the front of the sedan, the new grille combines with the vertical LED daytime running lights and the narrower headlights, which are engulfed by the sculpted hood. The larger, more prominent ‘cascading grille’ symbolizes the “flow of molten steel,” a press release reads.

The new engines also meet global standards with the largest of the group now selling with a 2.0 liter turbo engine. The smallest entry-level model comes with a 1.8 VGT engine.

The model is likely to enter the Iranian market when it goes on sale in the Middle East and North African markets later this year.

Hyundai has not released the price of the new model, but it is likely to be no more expensive than the existing 2017 version

Sonata is one of the popular imported models in Iran. In September 2016, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration reported that the Sonata was the most popular large imported Sedan during that year.
