Iranian authorities have reduced the cost of the Temporary Admission License for the vehicles that enter Iran from Armenia by over $410. Mehr News Agency reports that the Islamic Republic Customs Administration has decided to lower the entry cost to $90 from the Norduz border. The report also notes that the application papers for the motorists are now in Farsi, English and Russian. The Temporary Admission License allows Armenians, Iranians and citizens of other countries to bring Armenian-registered vehicles into Iran at reduced cost only from the entry point. The announcement also states that Iranians who have lived for three months in Armenia can also take advantage of the reduced entry costs. The report does not say whether drivers also need to have a Carnet de Passage en Douane (CPD) on entering Iran. The CPD is a customs document that identifies a traveler's motor vehicle or other valuable equipment or baggage. The permit is required in order to take a motor vehicle into Iran.
