The 2017 Suzuki Swift has been revealed in Japan ahead of a European debut in Geneva featuring updated styling and a hybrid drivetrain option.
The Swift’s styling has evolved rather than been radically changes, managing to introduce more curves and more angles, CarsUK reports.
Inside there’s a new interior with a redesigned dashboard, a multi-function flat-bottomed steering wheel, new Infotainment and new connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the bonnet there is a choice of three engines, with the entry level a 1.2 liter, four cylinder petrol engine delivering 66bhp and 87lb/ft of torque and a choice of either 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox.
The same 1.2 litre petrol can also be had as a mild hybrid, mated to an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with brake energy regeneration and delivering additional horsepower and torque during acceleration. The mild hybrid, unsurprisingly, comes with a CVT ‘box.
The third option is Suzuki’s 1.0 litre three-cylinder turbo petrol, producing 101bhp and 110lb/ft of torque and mated to a six-speed auto.
The new Suzuki SWift goes on sale in Japan of 4 January, but there is no date yet on if it will be imported to Iran.
