Peugeot’s 207i, which is better known as 206+ in the European market, has re-entered production at Iran Khodro’s factory west of Tehran, according to Asbe Bokhar (Horse Power), a local automotive website

Production of the modified hatchback comes part of PSA Group’s Peugeot new joint venture with Iran Khodro which commenced in the summer.

Production of the vehicle halted in 2012 due to a lack of parts and a shortage of third party manufacturers.

With the recently signed joint venture between IKCO and Peugeot, known as IKAP, the Iranian company now has what is needed to start 207i production.

The model is estimated to cost 419 million rials ($11,000) according to the initial price lists. Some dealers and showrooms are already pre-selling the car for 510 million rials -- $2,000 over and above the official company price. During the previous round of the production, the car sold for 360 million rials ($9,470).

The 207i has almost the same exterior design as 206 with slight changes. One of the differences between the two models is 207’s upgraded dashboard and headlight design.

The model is a successor to the famous 206 and based on a modified version of the platform.
