Renault’s  subsidiary in Iran, Negin Khodro, says it will introduce two new models by April 2017, the company’s CEO Jamshid Hosseini said in a December 4 interview with a local automotive website. Negin Khodro (Jewel Vehicles) is a local subsidiary of Renault and is in charge of  imports, including the recently released Talisman model priced at 1.65 billion rials ($47,000) to 1.79 billion rials ($51,000) for the deluxe model.  Hosseini, speaking with persiankhodro.com, said Negin in collaboration with Renault will bring the hitherto unnamed models to the Iranian market. He added that Negin’s offer is good for the local market and “good news is on the way” for the planned new models. This year is “a year of surprises” for the local market and Negin will contribute to that change, he said without elaboration. One of the possible newcomers to shape the market could be the Renault Kwid, a small crossover vehicle which was originally developed for the Indian domestic market. The Kwid is estimated to be priced at 250 to 300 million rials ($7,300 to $8,750).
