Ninety percent of cars in the capital have obtained quality inspection documents, while only 10% have not yet referred to the centers for the annual auto check, the head of Tehran’s Vehicle Quality Inspection Committee announced. Navvab Hosseini-Manesh added that cars that do not have the needed documents are not permitted to enter the Low-Emission Zone in Tehran. Car owners are notified of any cases of breaches via SMS, Asre Khodro reported on November 11. The official also noted that an automated online system will be launched next week that will organize the time when car owners should show up at the inspection centers. Hosseini-Manesh added that last week, 6,000 cars were referred to auto inspection centers, which is down from the previous week’s 7,500 referrals.
